WNYC and Tribeca Film Festival® Partner for Second Year to Bring TRIBECA TALKS® to a Digital Audience

 

 

Talks with industry luminaries including Spike Lee, Harvey Weinstein, Amy Schumer, and Olivia Wilde, among others

to be made available as podcasts on a rolling basis at www.wnyc.org/tribeca

 

(New York, NY--April 20, 2015)-- WNYC and Tribeca Film Festival are partnering for a second year to produce exclusive podcasts of the festival's star-studded "Tribeca Talks®," extending the series to a national and international audience.

 

WNYC will produce "Tribeca Film Festival Live" podcasts from the best panels and events of the hallmark conversation series with prominent directors, producers, writers, actors. This year’s guests include Spike Lee, Amy Schumer, Olivia Wilde, Cary Fukunaga, Christian Slater, and Harvey Weinstein.

 

Talks are being recorded and made available as podcasts on a rolling basis within 24 hours. All podcasts may be found here: www.wnyc.org/tribeca. They are also available at iTunes and via the WNYC app.

In honor of our annual Sloan Film Retrospective, the Tribeca Film Festival and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation will host a special screening of Good Will Hunting. Acclaimed director Gus Van Sant brings Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's Academy Award winning screenplay to life with the story of Will Hunting. Hunting is a 20-year-old math genius working as a janitor at MIT, who is struggling with his past. After one too many run-ins with the law, Will's last chance is a psychology professor (Robin Williams, who won an Academy Award for the role) who seems to be the only person who can reach him. Finally forced to deal with his past, Will discovers that the only one holding him back is himself. After the Movie: Director Gus Van Sant, Minnie Driver, Brian Greene, Stellan Skarsgaard, Paul Browde will explore the making of the film, memories of the late Robin Williams, science and the modern importance of its themes.
