Zheng Kai (aka Ryan Zheng) Attends TIFF with 'SHADOW' (2018)

Zheng Kai (aka Ryan Zheng)

Zheng Kai aka Ryan Zheng is a fast-emerging Chinese actor, filmmaker and entrepreneur. A frequent collaborator of Academy Award-nominated, BAFTA Award-winning Chinese director Zhang Yimou, Zheng appeared in The Great Wall opposite Matt Damon and will next appear in the highly anticipated Shadow, which is set to premiere at the upcoming 2018 Venice Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.

A box-office powerhouse in his native China, Zheng has appeared in a wide range of genres including romantic comedies (Ex Files trilogy, Let's Get Married, This is Me), fantasy (The Golden Monk) and drama (Personal Tailor, Peace Breaker).

Zheng is also an accomplished television actor, having appeared in some of China’s most-watched dramas including New Horizon, Long Time No See and Big National Life. He is currently one of the leading personalities in the hugely popular Chinese variety series Running Man that films all over the world.

Zheng’s extensive fanbase has led to several major endorsement deals. He is the brand ambassador for Adidas Neo, China’s largest smartphone manufacturer Oppo and Mageline Beauty among others.

Zheng looks set to replicate his local success in the US and Europe, with plans to expand his reach in the western market as both an actor and producer.
