Since the festivals inception, Honoring Stories worth Telling has been their mandate. What better way to inspire and empower than to have vetted producers and development executives share their wisdom, answer Questions from the audience and have an opportunity to pitch? This exhilarating and unique event would allow the audience to pitch their best ideas, meet successful producers & learn what works, what doesn't and why from them, Q & A after the panel. About these industry legends: Eric Calderon has been in the animation business since 1994. He is currently working as a producer at Warner Bros. Animation on an upcoming full length animated film that will be released by Warner Home Entertainment. Prior to that, he acted as Show Runner, writer, and Executive Producer for Transformers: Combiner Wars & Titans Return for Machinima. He also Executive Produced an animated TV series co-production in collaboration with Fox Home Video USA and Fox Japan based on another major feature film franchise. Jonathan Cane is an unscripted development and production exec with 19 years of experience delivering immersive, fun and fresh content to a wide range of outlets. Prior to joining the Back Roads fold, he was VP of Development for BBC Worldwide Productions and Fremantle Media North America. He ushered original concepts into Fox, MTV, CW, Bravo, E!, GSN, Discovery, Oxygen, Style, Lifetime, VH1, National Geographic, TLC, We, Red Bull, and A&E. Jonathan got his start working at MTV News in 1998, and moved up through the MTV ranks where he ultimately served as showrunner for a diverse slate of shows; delivering a total of over 250 hours of aired content. Steven J Wolfe is a seasoned film producer and President of Sneak Preview Entertainment, a production and talent management company he founded almost 25 years ago. Wolfe recently produced a musical re-imagining of the 1983 classic, Valley Girl with Matt Smith for MGM as well as acclaimed writer-director Alan Rudolph's (Ray Meets Helen) and writer-director Nnegest Likke's (Everything But a Man), which is currently winning awards on the festival circuit. His vast list of producing credits such diverse films Miss March, The Secret Lives of Dorks, Tollbooth, Fast Sofa, When Do We Eat?, Beautiful Loser, Civilization of Maxwell Bright, Hellbent, Circuit, The Clean & Narrow, Bird of Prey, Only You, Scorchers and My Mom’s a Werewolf. Roy Bodner is a 25-year veteran in the production and marketing of feature films, television programming and awards shows. His corporate experience includes key management roles at Disney, at E! Entertainment Networks and at Peace Arch Entertainment. Most recently he produced the feature drama “Dance Baby, Dance” distributed by Indie Rights. Bodner is currently developing three feature films, including a documentary about wine; and two TV series including a unique cooking show and a behind-the-scenes series about baseball. On Michael D Ratner, Kevin Hart and Blake Griffin are both making an aggressive push into digital. What's the common thread? A 28-year old producer named Michael D. Ratner who has quickly established himself as the go to production house where athletes can play themselves or characters in fast paced, highly entertaining comedic sketches. In doing so, Ratner has closed deals with Verizon go90, Kevin Hart, Lionsgate and MTV, and that is just within the last year. About the festival: In 2009 New Media Film Festival was announced in Second Life as part of the C3 – United Nations – Millennium Project as an annual event. The Festival brings together the work of established and emerging New Media Content Creators and video artists, from the US as well as internationally. New Media Film Festival introduces new technology, communication of ideas through panels and Q & A’s to implement a more expansive use of 21st technology in storytelling for artists and content creators.
