The British Urban Film Festival looks ahead to Spring Season 2015 with the announcement of a stellar line-up of cinema and television premieres for audiences to enjoy during the May bank holiday weekend.

BUFF will show two nights of cinema premieres at Genesis Cinema in Mile End Road starting from Friday 1st of May followed by a Sunday night TV premiere on Community Channel on 3rd of May. As part of the agreement, viewers will get another chance to watch the Sunday night premiere on Bank Holiday Monday. Jessica Mellor and Akosua Annobil will host the cinema premieres with Q&A’s featuring cast members, directors & special guests.

The opening event on 1st May is the London premiere of Breaking Britain, a roadmovie comedy directed by Adriel Leff. The Saturday event on 2nd May is the London premiere of Brooklyn, the critically acclaimed French hip-hop drama which first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014 - directed by Pascal Tessaud. The Sunday night TV premiere is Calloused Hands, an award winning coming-of-age drama which first premiered in the UK at the 2013 British Urban Film Festival – directed by Jesse Quinones.

Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe, Director of the British Urban Film Festival, said: “A BUFF screening event is a unique experience and it’s our privilege as the home of urban film coverage in the UK to bring audiences all the action throughout what we hope will be another memorable BUFF weekend.

“We believe we’ve assembled a great line up of films and guests who, through their talent and sheer passion for film can help deliver the best possible experience for those coming to the cinema or watching at home.”
