TV Beats Forum, the drama-series-oriented strand of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event presents eight new series projects as part of the TV Beats co-financing market.

For the second time, TV Beats Forum presents series projects with international sales and distribution potential development. The presenters will have the opportunity to organise meetings with financiers, partners and broadcasters.

Jevgeni Supin, the TV Beats Co-Financing Market Manager commented that the co-financing market selection team had a really hard time deciding who are the ones getting through to the final round, as there were many promising projects on the table. “Most of the selected projects have secured partial financial support from the home countries and now they are ready to involve international partners, who could help the projects to turn into magical series,” he added.

Overview of projects presented at TV Beats Co-Financing Market:

  1. Title: The Embassy Country: Czech Republic, Germany
  2. Title: Finisterra Country: Portugal
  3. Title: Minds Of The Many Country: Germany
  4. Title: Revolution School Country: UK
  5. Title: Sam Wylde: Bodyguard Country: Finland
  6. Title: Rent Country: Estonia
  7. Title: Cosmic Girl Country: Italy, France
  8. Title: Minervas Country: Slovenia (The project was selected as a result of cooperation between Paprika Studios’ Hypewriter Pitch Forum and TV Beats Co-Financing market).

The jury that selected the projects participated at TV Beats Co-Financing market, including Morgane Bruna (Wild Bunch TV), Richard Pommerat (N9ne Studio) and Prof. Dr. Joachim Friedman.

In addition to the projects presented at TV Beats Co-Financing Market, the audience will be able to get an overview of nine exciting new series from Central and Eastern Europe presented by MIDPOINT Series Launch and eight selected projects from Ukraine by the Odesa International Film Festival.

About Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival

Started in 1997, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival has grown into one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe and busiest regional industry platforms, hosting more than 1000 guests and industry delegates and over 160 journalists. The festival screens around 250 features and more than 300 shorts and animations and sees an attendance of 80 000 people annually. In 2017 the festival was covered in 71 languages with a potential global media audience of over 1.1 billion people.

As of 2014 the festival holds the FIAPF accreditation for holding an international competition programme which puts the festival into the so- called A-category of film festivals, alongside other 14 festivals in the world (including Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, Karlovy Vary, San Sebastian, Shanghai, Tokyo etc).

Black Nights has an umbrella structure with two sub-festivals PÖFF Shorts and youth and children's film festival Just Film taking place concurrently with the main festival,
two off-season festivals - Haapsalu Horror and Fantasy Film Festival and Tartu Love Film Festival - and a fully-fledged film industry platform Industry@Tallinn, organised jointly with the Baltic Event Co-production market.
