Director Anne Sewitsky (Happy, Happy) makes her return to Sundance Film Festival with the feature length film, Homesick.

Director Anne Sewitsky (Happy, Happy) makes her return to Sundance Film Festival with the feature length film, Homesick.

Starring effervescent, international talent to watch Ine Wilmann and Swedish actor Simon J. Berger (Call Girl), Homesick follows the complicated bond between a brother and sister. The Norwegian film premieres as part of the World Cinema Dramatic Competition during the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. Sundance takes place January 22 – February 1, 2015.

Homesick follows the story of 27 year old ingénue Charlotte (Wilmann) whose longing for love and acceptance leads her to reach out to her half brother Henrik (Berger) who she’s never met. The siblings’ urge to create a family bond slowly deepens to become an encounter without boundaries, between two people who don’t know what normal family is. Wilmann’s debut performance in Homesick is remarkable and positions her as a rising star.

“Premiering Homesick at Sundance Film Festival is a logical and happy choice,” said Sewitsky. “The festival attracts a high calibre of films and a thoughtful audience and I will never forget the support the festival offered me early in my career.”

Director Anne Sewitsky’s international breakthrough came with her feature film debut Happy, Happy in 2010. Sewitsky won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival along with a number of other international awards and the film was later appointed Norway’s Official Entry for the Academy Awards® in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Homesick is produced by Synnøve Hørsdal and Åshild Ramborg for Maipo Film AS. Nordic distribution through Nordisk Film. Domestic release is set for March 27th, 2015. TrustNordisk is handling international sales.
