CALL FOR ENTRIES ANIMATED COM AWARD at ITFS – Deadline: January 15, 2015

In 2015 Stuttgart will again open up the doors to the great world of animated film. And the competition for the golden Trickstars starts anew. The Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) will offer a platform to filmmakers, directors and production companies to present their films and give the fans of animated film the chance to watch animated short and feature films of all genres for six days. The ITFS is one of the biggest and most important international festivals for animated film. It has developed into an essential event within the field of animated film in Germany and worldwide. Around 85,000 visitors and approximately 2,500 accredited professionals attended in 2014. An extensive supporting programme offers numerous workshops, informational events, presentations and much more.

Since 2007 the ITFS has been presenting awards in the field of applied animation – a competition that since 2011 is known as the Animated Com Award. “COM” stands for both the words commercial and communication.

Until January 15, 2015, the Animated Com Award is open for submissions in the field of applied animation. Prizes will be awarded for outstanding work in the areas of advertising, spatial communication, and technology, and a special award by Daimler AG. The special award „Future needs derivation – Mobility in a digital world“ is offered by the Daimler AG. All interested national and international filmmakers – students from film and animation schools as well as young companies – are invited to animate mobility 2.0 in creative, personal and innovative ways. The passion for automobile should be visualised and sustainable solutions for individual needs expressed in a playful manner. All techniques ranging from 3D computer animation to 2D cell animation and stop motion are accepted. The maximum length of the films mustn’t exceed 5 minutes.
