LA REIGN OF THE NATIONAL PRO GRID LEAGUE (NPGL) TO BE FEATURED AT THEFITEXPO ANAHEIM IN THE ANAHEIM CONVENTION CENTER ON AUGUST 23, 2015
GRID IS THE WORLD’S FIRST PROFESSIONAL SPECTATOR SPORT WITH CO-ED TEAMS THAT COMPETE IN STRATEGIC ATHLETICS RACING
The LA Reign of the National Pro Grid League (NPGL) will be featured at TheFitExpo Anaheim in the Anaheim Convention Center on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2:00pm PST. The LA Reign will close out a weekend of GRID matches against the Phoenix Rise. GRID incorporates speed, skill and strategy in a test of endurance through a variety of weightlifting and body-weight elements. Along with the LA Reign, there will be seven other NPGL teams competing on Saturday and Sunday with two matches each day and 11 races in each match.
GRID, in its second season and with a renewed contract with NBC Sports, is the world’s first professional spectator sport with two co-ed teams racing head-to-head in a two-hour match. Each match features two 14-person teams (7 men, 7 women, one of each being over 40 years old) going head-to-head in 11 races. Grid races are easy to follow and are played with pre-set rules and unlimited substitutions deigned to force teams to strategize.
With the first round of matches in the 2015 NPGL season in the books, each of the League’s teams are looking forward to continuing their quest to make the playoffs by working to put their strongest lineups together for a doubleheader on August 22 and 23 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
The weekend will feature all eight NPGL teams — Los Angeles Reign, New York Rhinos, Boston Iron, DC Brawlers, Phoenix Rise, Miami Surge, San Francisco Fire and Baltimore Anthem — playing two matches on each day under one roof.
Below is the schedule:
Saturday, August 22
Baltimore Anthem @ Boston Iron, 11 a.m. PT
San Francisco Fire @ Miami Surge, 2 p.m. PT
Sunday, August 23
New York Rhinos @ DC Brawlers, 11 a.m. PT
