South East European Film Festival


Southeast European Film Festival, Los Angeles (SEEfest) is a competition festival which educates about the cultural diversity of Southeast Europe and fosters cultural exchange through its annual presentations of films from the countries of the Balkans and Caucasus. Categories: Feature films, narrative documentaries, short fiction and short docs as well as short animation. Submissions are typically opened from mid-September to mid-February. SEEfest is week-long event and takes place annually at the end of April-beginning of May, in Los Angeles, CA. Awards are given in all categories by juries of Hollywood professionals. Don’t Miss the South East European Films at AFI in Los Angeles

Here's another great opportunity to see films from South
East Europe in Los Angeles. And it's free! Today (and later this week too) you
can see two SEE films at the AFI Film Festival:

-- Once Upon a Time in Anatolia (Turkey/Bosnia) is
Turkey’s official submission for the Foreign Language Oscar, today at 1:30pm at
the Egyptian, and Nov. 10 at 3:45pm at the Chinese. Details: http://ticketing.afi.com/eng/detail.aspx?ID=8196 

-- The Forgiveness of Blood (USA/Albania/Denmark/Italy)
is about two feuding Albanian families, directed by Joshua Marston (Maria Full
of Grace), today at 7pm at the Chinese, and Nov. 8 at 10pm at the Egyptian.

FREE TICKETS

AFI FEST presented by Audi is offering free tickets again
this year. While many screenings are already at capacity, you can get
last-minute tickets the day before each screening at
http://www.AFI.com/AFIFEST/  or the day of each screening at
the AT&T Box Office (Hollywood
& Highland Center, Suite 219). Additionally, rush lines will begin forming
one hour before each screening, and remaining tickets will be distributed on a
first-come, first-served basis.
