Yavor Gardev presented his project Contra during the Moscow Co-Production Forum at Moscow Business Square. Contra was first presented during Sofia Meetings,
and in Moscow it competed with 23 more projects, selected from more
than 100 applications. The selection committee featured Mira Staleva,
director of the co-production market at the Sofia Film Festival; Riina
Sildos, director of the Baltic Event, Marie-Pierre Valle, creative director of Wild Bunch Distribution; Simone Baumann, German Films’ representative for Eastern Europe, and Bernd Buder, director of the co-production market Connecting Cottbus.

Two projects, Sergey Bodrov’s Civilians and Cowboy films’ Competition received grants of 5000 euro. The adaptation of ‘Death in Venice’, Food Of Love, which will be directed by Peter Greenaway, was awarded a check of 30 000 euro in services from Glavkino.

Yavor Gardev returned as a member of the Main Competition Jury to the Moscow IFF, where in 2008 his feature debut Zift (another Sofia Meetings project) received the Best Director award.
