I’m a journalist and film critic based in Mumbai, India, having worked on the desk and in the field for more than 12 years, with overall experience of 15 years in Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestlye journalism as also News and Business.

I have studied Film Appreciation at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, for one month in a highly intensive course with lectures by the who's who of the film world, followed by daily film screenings of two to four movies / documentaries and discussions.

I have also done the Cinema Through the Lens of Life film appreciation course at the Naional Film Archive of India (NFAI), Pune under the tutelage of National Award-winning filmmaker, writer and film editor Ms. Arunaraje Patil.  

Film Studies was also a part of my PG in Mass Communication from SNDT Women's University in Juhu, Mumbai, and additionally a Cinema as Art course by Ms. Jeroo Mulla, former HoD at Sophia Polytechnic's Social Communications Media course.

Apart from 'Live, Eat, Breathe Cinema', I also follow the motto of 'Live and Let Live'.

3rd Orange City International Film Festival (OCIFF) to be held from Feb 7-10 in Nagpur

OCIFF 2019 Orange City International Film FestivalThe 3rd Orange City International Film Festival (OCIFF) begins from February 7 in Nagpur and will go on till February 10. This time there has been less buzz about the festival for some reason. The OCIFF 2019 will be inaugurated by the city's Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on February 7 at 5 pm IST at the Persistent Systems auditorium in Nagpur, following which the opening film My Own Good (Italian), directed by Pippo Mezzapesa, will be screened.

Organized by the Orange City Cultural Foundation in association with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, the OCIFF 2019 will feature 31 feature films from across the world and 25 short films. Apart from the Persistent Systems Auditorium, the screenings will be held at Inox Jaswant at Tuli Mall.

The films to be screened at OCIFF 2019 include three movies by Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci, including Last Tango in Paris. There will be some Marathi films, including Nagraj Manjule's Naal, and a Hindi film called Rakkhosh directed by Srivinay Sulian which was shot in Nagpur.

Renowned filmmaker Jahnu Barua will be honoured for Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema at OCIFF 2019, and Marathi filmmaker Rajdutt will be presented with the Orange City Cultural Foundation award.
