Vanity Fair's publisher about his sponsorship of SFIFF51.

Edward Menicheschi, Vanity Fair vice president and publisher says, "The partnership with the San Francisco Film Society is an important opportunity for us. Not only are we collaborating with one of the most renowned film organizations in the world during its showcase event, but we are able to bring our own charitable initiative, Vanity Fair Reel Relief, to life through the lens of the Festival to benefit the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). It's an alliance that is truly innovative and one that is sure to be a great success for both Vanity Fair and SFFS."

San Francisco Film Society is a nonprofit arts and education organization dedicated to celebrating the world of film and media. SFFS year-round programs and events are concentrated in four core areas: Internationalism and Cross-Cultural Exchange; Educating and Inspiring Bay Area Youth; Showcasing Bay Area Film Culture; and Exploring New Digital Media.

Currently the Film Society presents more than 125 days of programming each year, reaching a total audience of more than 100,000 people. In addition, its acclaimed Education Program introduces international cinema and media literacy to several thousand teachers and students annually.

The 51st San Francisco International Film Festival runs April 24-May 8, 2008 at the Sundance Kabuki Cinemas, the Castro Theatre and Landmark's Clay Theatre in San Francisco; and the Pacific Film Archive Theater in Berkeley. Held each spring for 15 days, the International is an extraordinary showcase of cinematic discovery and innovation in the country's most beautiful city, featuring 25 awards, 200 films and live events with upwards of 100 participating filmmakers and diverse audiences of 80,000+ people.
