Robin Miner

My name is Robin Miner. I will be living abroad in Cannes during the 2017 Festival De Cannes. I have volunteered at other festivals in the US over the past five years.  I have made it possible for me to take a leave of absence from my career outside of anything to do with the film industry and allow myself to take this wonderful journey to live abroad in your beautiful country.

I will be living abroad for month in Cannes I would like to work locally at the festival.

I am a great people person and no task, no customer, no event is too small – I provide 100% effort ensuring a great experience for all. I have worked the Sundance Festival, Phoenix Film Festival, Scottsdale Film Festival along with The Greater Phoenix Jewish Film Festival.

In planning my trip to Cannes I purposely planned to stay with a slight margin in term of days, compared to the beginning of the festival.

Cannes and the Red Carpet

Hello From Cannes By now everyone has seen the excitement all over TV and Watching so there is nothing new I can add here other than it is truly an amazing event to be a part of! Watching it all come together and have a very tiny piece was wonderful.  Now it's time to see movies for me the rest of the time I'm here.  In none of my photos will be be able to see Uma Thurman signing utographs or Susan Sarandon arriving in all her glory. Robin Wright also gave us all there a&...

The Red Carpet is here finally it all begins

Hello From Cannes Late this afternoon as the tiny town exploded! As you see here is the beginning of it all as tomorrow brings in the 70th Cannes Film Festival I am excited to be a part of it all and being able to be here before the festival and watching the town transform into something truly splendid is a treat. So many great people I've already met and as the festival continues I am looking forward to bringing you more fun photos and facts Cheers from Cannes, ...

Blue Chairs of the Promenade des Anglais

Hello From Cannes! Amazing these simple chairs fascinated me so much I came home and did some research they are everywhere I hope you enjoy what I found out about them.  I sat for hours and knitted and watched all the wonderful people.  I find this is a regular stop for me on my daily walks to read or knit.  Some days I just sit and just enjoy where I am.  In 1950 with the increase of tourism to Nice, the Ville de Nice ordered 800 chairs from a certain Monsieur Ballanger ...

The Begining of the Festivities here in Cannes

Hello From Cannes, It's hard to believe what will become of all this set up in just a few days now!  My enjoyment of it all is watching it all come together and this small little world famous town is well underway!  The office of Tourism has stopped all tours now as the festival takes center stage.  Every small business you can imagine is out making their presence known.  This stunning event will air on the 17th so be ready and make sure you watch the red carpet! I...

Fun in Cannes

Hello From Cannes! As I walked along the beach for my 7 mile walking days which I've come to find is my new simple pleasures seeing this great retro spinner sign of Old Cannes  then  found my way to the Port Of Cannes and the thought of this retro sign reminds me just how long the world famous festival has been going on 70 years. I saw so many fun finds on this beautiful walk along the other side of the ocean!  As I stumbled across this f...

An amazing day with someone very special to me before the festival

Hello from Cannes, Even when you're in such a fabulous place having a once in a lifetime experience that some sadness can find its way in and when it did my best friend of 25 years arrives to enjoy this amazing experience and those smiles return.  I knew my friend was indeed here for the same reasons I was when she instantly stopped to smell the flowers upon arrival just as I had done when I arrived!  I found that was the beginning of what we would both look back on...

Not all churches are the same

Hello from Cannes, A bit of History of this amazing place! Le Suquet sits at the top of the hill overlooking what is now Cannes, but this was the original site of the town. It started out as a Roman camp and several buildings were added over the centuries. It overlooks one of the most famous walkways in the world (La Croisette,) In the 12th century, monks built a castle on top of the hill, now known as Musée de la Castre. Today the medieval fortress houses an art collection that was...

A Stunning view of Cannes upon a Hilltop

Hello from Cannes! Hopefully this stunning view comes across as great as it is intended to.  The walk up the hill to get it was the best way to see it in all its glory!  Have you ever stopped long enough to see the amazing color blue when its  being seen from the sky and the water at the same time... it seemed majestic to me, once again today I found myself enjoying all this lovely area has to offer and see the blue in everything there is here to c...

Downtown in Old Cannes

Hello from Cannes! Do I look happy to be here?  I sure hope so! I was very happy here it was a great day!   I was told to pose so I wanted to show I was feeling fabulous and once again enjoying the moment I was in and what I was sharing.  I probably enjoy my days here more than most I'm guessing I didn't see anyone else doing such poses! Lucky me that's how I see it!  The narrow streets are lined with sweet treats meant to be shared so you can en...

Stop & Smell the Roses in Cannes

Good day once again from Cannes! I can honestly say I have taken a bit of each day to realize how lucky I am to be here and to make it a point to really stop and smell the roses along the way! What a thought we never give ourselves time for in our day to day life to enjoy such a moment.   I hope this photo captures how happy I was that day. Each day gives different reasons that was a great day to embrace.  I hope its not to boring but there might be more as I stop and...

The Posters are up in Cannes

Good day from Cannes, I'm making up for some extra time I took for myself the last few days with a few extra blog entries today!  If it looks larger than life it is! The signs are up and this is where it will all take place.  More photos coming as tents already go up all around the building to support such an event!  It is about a 20 minute walk for me to get here and it is something I look forward to daily are the amazing walks but also seeing how t...

A Bit of Fun in Cannes

Hello from Cannes! Well where do I begin with this photo... I got to share some very special time here in Cannes with someone very close to my heart and as that time ended this bottle of wine came in handy. So let's just go with life gives us what we need when we need it.  Those of you who know me would find it hard to believe that I did drink this bottle and this great find is now a staple in my little flat.  I can't take all the credit f...

The Carlton Intercontinental Hotel Cannes displays 1st Banner for the Festival

And it is all beginning! It is just lovely here and everyday so far brings something new!  Today as the cranes reach high on top of the  Carlton Intercontinental Hotel Cannes to display the new Spiderman movie the site was a treat to watch as me and others stopped to watch this action take place.  As it still hovers in the 60-70's here in Cannes with on and off showers it is still amazing to be here.  The stunning ships arriving here is a sight all its own!  Mor...
