Do not miss the largest swim-in cinema ever with Life of Pi shown on a huge screen at Laugardalslaug!Life of Pi shown on a huge screen at Laugardalslaug
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of RIFF, our annual Swim-in Cinema event will be bigger than ever! We invite you to join us for a unique, one-night-only swimming pool cinema event, where we‘ll show the Oscar award-winning film Life of Pi on a huge 100 m2 screen. The swimming pool grandstand, with seat capacity of 2600, has recently been renovated and will be open to the public for the first time in decades. The night‘s feature film, Life of Pi, came out in 2012 and was nominated for 11 Oscars, winning 4. Life of Pi is based on Yann Martel‘s best-selling book about a young Indian boy‘s adventurous journey. It takes place largely out at open sea, making it ideal for a swim-in event! The entire pool area surrounding Laugardalslaug will be open to event guests and will be buzzing with life! There, guests will be able to stroll around, buy sweets and RIFF merchandise, food from food trucks, lounge on beach chairs and relax in the hot tubs while watching the movie. In the pool itself, there will be rowboats, not unlike those that appear in the film, where people are free to sit in and watch the film. Villi Netó will host the evening and the area will be illuminated by Luxor in an elegant way, so it will become a truly magical space! The adventure starts on August 25th at 19:00. Press here for tickets! Don’t miss out on this unique swim-in cinema, only for this one time!
