VIDEO Interview with the director of the Qisah London Festival

Qisah International Film Festival provides a single platform for films from across the Muslim world enabling filmmakers, both Muslim and non-Muslim, to represent these local worlds in all their cultural diversity, nuance and depth. By Muslim world we mean not only Muslim majority countries but also those with significant Muslim minorities and the Muslim diaspora in Europe, North America and elsewhere. In bringing local film-maker’s representation of their life-worlds the festival aims to gain a new global audience for their work, to support filmmakers and film industries in these countries and to render/represent the diversity of Muslim life in all its complexity. Bruno Chatelin sat down in Jeddah with Philippe Jalladeau, during RSIFF to discuss his launching festival dedicated to film sfrom Muslim countries (the pilot edition just wrapped in London) He told us how he developped his taste for films from africa and middle east when he founded in 1979 The Festival des Trois Continents in Nantes, which he ran with his brother for 3O years.

This is what he had to say watch the video
