The Saudi Artist Abdulrahman Mohammed is set to take the stage at Maraya in AlUla performing his experimental project "The Hope Will Never End" on January 7, 2022.

An improvisational composer, independent, experimental singer and musician, Abdulrahman Mohammed's passion lies in creating Arabic improvisational composing, combing it with western, Indian, Mediterranean musical types, such as acoustic, indie, folk, progressive, light jazz, and instrumental Arabic songs.

Abdulrahman is known for taking traditional Arabic love poems and creating improvisational compositions tailored for his distinctive voice. His songs such as “Ya man Hawah” and “Lamma tlagaina” can be found on his YouTube channel, which he launched in 2008. Also on his channel is the lyrical music project called “The Hope will Never End,” which took ten years to complete its journey.

Abdulrahman has performed in many cultural Arabic and international theatres and many universities in kuwait, Jeddah, Cairo and Sharjah. He also participated in several alternative and independent music festivals.

Abdulrahman Mohammed’s "The Hope Will Never End" journey is bringing him to the award-winning Maraya next. Sure to bring a fresh take to AlUla, don’t miss out on this exciting alternative experimental music concert.

About Winter at Tantora:

Winter at Tantora festival is considered as the Kingdom's first-ever music and cultural festival. This year, it will run from 21 December 2021 to 12 February 2022. It will offer both international and local visitors an exciting six weeks of music, cultural events and equestrian events of AlUla Desert Polo and Fursan Endurance Cup. Winter at Tantora is the first part of AlUla Moments festivals which include three other distinguished festivals of AlUla Arts festival, AlUla Skies, and AlUla Wellness festival.

About AlUla:

Located 1,100 km from Riyadh, in North-West Saudi Arabia, AlUla is a place of extraordinary natural and human heritage. The vast area, covering 22,561km², includes a lush oasis valley, towering sandstone mountains and ancient cultural heritage sites dating back thousands of years to when the Lihyan and Nabataean kingdoms reigned.

The most well-known and recognised site in AlUla is Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. A 52-hectare ancient city, Hegra was the principal southern city of the Nabataean Kingdom and is comprised of 111 well-preserved tombs, many with elaborate facades cut out of the sandstone outcrops surrounding the walled urban settlement.

Current research also suggests Hegra was the most southern outpost of the Roman Empire after the Roman’s conquered the Nabataeans in 106 CE.

In addition to Hegra, AlUla is also home to ancient Dadan, the captial of the Dadan and Lihyan Kingdoms and considered to be one of the most developed 1st millennium BCE cities of the Arabian Penninsula. And Jabal Ikmah, an open air library of hundreds of inscriptions and writings in many different languages. Also AlUla Old Town, a labyrinth of more than 900 mudbrick homes developed from at least the 12th century, and Hijaz Railway and Hegra Fort, key sites in the story and conquests of Lawrence of Arabia.
