PUFF Presents a Pre-Release Screening of LATE NIGHT DOUBLE FEATUREThe Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival (PUFF) presents a pre-release screening of the anthology film, LATE NIGHT DOUBLE FEATURE. The FREE screening is being held on May 14, 2016 at CineMug on 1607 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA. The event starts at 8pm and is BYOB with $2 corkage fee.
LATE NIGHT DOUBLE FEATURE follows the cast of Dr. Nasty's Cavalcade of Horror as they embark on a late night television filming session that erupts in bloody chaos. The horror anthology is directed and edited by Navin Ramaswaran (ONE MORE FOR THE ROAD), Torin Langen (FONDUE) and Zachary Ramelan (DEAD RUSH).
Run by Fangoria writer Madeleine Koestner and longtime pop culture blogger Alex Gardner, PUFF has been hosting monthly screenings at one of Philly's last video rental shops, CineMug. These screenings will culminate in a weekend-long festival that will feature a networking night, horror trivia, and plenty of exciting new features and shorts. PUFF has previously screened Greg Lamberson’s KILLER RACK and Chris LaMartina’s CALL GIRL OF CTHULHU from Camp Motion Pictures, with many more screenings of exciting new horror films to come.
PUFF has recently started accepting short and feature length submissions for its upcoming film festival via Filmfreeway. The festival will focus not only on delivering an alternative film festival to the local movie fanatics of Philadelphia, but connecting upstart filmmakers with distribution outlets by working with local independent film distributors. The festival directors offer a combined ten years of film festival and horror journalism experience, working with Fangoria, Famous Monsters of Filmland, Another Hole in the Head, Buffalo Dreams, the Bay Area’s SiliCon, and more.
“We have met a lot of great movie fans while holding our screenings at CineMug,” said Gardner. “We hope we can continue to grow our audience by holding more pre-release and retro screenings while working to deliver Philly’s first truly alternative film festival. Our goal is to highlight films not normally highlighted and ignored by more mainstream festivals, and bring new undiscovered films to Philadelphia.”
PUFF is also looking for volunteers, strategic partners and sponsors for the film festival. Interested parties are encouraged to come to the May 14th screening to meet the festival directors and help support independent film in Philadelphia.
