NYC Indie Film Fest

The NYC Independent Film Festival provides a showcase for the best independent cinema, from NYC and around the world, to the public and entertainment industry. The weeklong celebration screens the best indie films, offers educational panels and presentations helmed by industry professionals, and holds live performances. The Festival gives filmmakers the opportunity for potential distribution and funding, as well as awarding the top films across numerous categories, all whole giving them the opportunity to mingle and network with press, supporters, and fans.

The Festival is focused on low budget and emerging, yet overlooked filmmakers, bringing their talent to culturally enrich the NYC community. The Festival aims to create the largest gathering of true indie filmmakers.

Whether a submission is comedic, dramatic, or something in between, The NYCIndieFF is eager to embrace fresh ideas and storytelling.

Free Live Performance: L*A*W

Come to the Producers Club Lounge for a free live performance by L*A*W and his band Planet 12! Reserve your seat today for the first musical performance at the 2017 NYC Independent Film Festival!

Most fans know L*A*W as the singer/rapper/dancer/producer & multi-instrumentalist In Funk Legend George Clinton's 420 Funk Mob in the legendary P-Funk camp but Millions have seen him on national television at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards & David Letterman in his white kangol hat glory singing & dancing behind the late legendary Amy Winehouse as well as being her opening act for her sold-out shows in New York City with his own red-hot 7-piece musically diverse, high energy band, The Planet 12 Movement. After lending his many talents & over 40 licensed songs to various VH-1, NBA, TV-1, Oxygen, Bravo, A&E, Lifetime & popular MTV shows like "The Real World: Brooklyn & Hollywood", his Critically Acclaimed, 7-Time Grammy Nominated first album "Tha Planet 12 Syndrome" gained acclaim from Lionel Richie, Diane Warren, EPMD, Ledisi, Rosanna Arquette, Dru Hill, Chico Debarge, Megan Mullally (Will And Grace), Janelle Monae, Ice-T & The Late Teena Marie. L*A*W was #1 in the New & Now section of the Winter Edition of SESAC's Publishing magazine of 2013 & also co-wrote the theme song as well as made a guest appearance for the 2012 independent movie "We Are The Hartmans".

Being the grandson of Blues/Soul legend The Late Sam "Bluzman" Taylor & Coming from one of the most famous families in music history. This Brooklyn hood boy from the Crown Heights section has been known to make Hip-Hop (Underground & Commercial styles) work in his favor fusing Funk, Rock N Roll & R&B/Soul elements while making his love for Country, Pop, Jazz & even EDM exist under one roof while at the same time balancing the commercial element but still staying true to his underground roots which has been attracting many music licensing companies to his musically diverse style that can fit in any occasion.

Not to mention his precise playing of 7 instruments & the perfect balance of killer vocal prowess in addition to serious rhyme & dance skill is winning new fans by the day at Twitter, Facebook & helped him reached over a million views & plays around the social media world. L*A*W also made history by becoming the first Hip-Hop based artist to play the legendary Bitter End club in NYC which usually only showcased Rock/Pop/Folk & very few Soul acts but never ever had a Hip-Hop act. L*A*W is also the very first Hip-Hop based artist to play the Songwriter's Hall Of Fame Showcase 3 times.

With a platinum roster of artists he's either opened up for or worked with like Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, Black Eyed Peas, Ne-Yo, Lionel Richie, Eric Burdon, Rick James, Chaka Khan, Harry Connick Jr, Fishbone, Morris Day and The Time, James Ingram & Deniece Williams, L*A*W is a major force that's causing the industry to rewrite their terms and be open minded to musically diverse artistry.
