NYC Indie Film Fest

The 9th Annual NYC Independent Film Festival provides a showcase for indie filmmakers from NYC and around the world to the NYC public & entertainment industry. Indie filmmakers self­fund projects with budgets from $0 - ­$500,000 and often overlooked, these filmmakers show extraordinary talent and creativity under tight budgets. The Festival provides filmmakers with the opportunity for potential distribution while meeting fans and promoting their film. 

The Festival is an annual event and will run May 7 - 13, 2018, taking place at Producers Club. We will screen 300 films, host panels and presentations, as well as after parties, a live script reading, and a live comedy sketch performance! All while expecting 4,500 attendees!
2018 submission categories include: Narrative Feature, Short Film (narrative), Super Short Film (narrative), Documentary Fearure, Documentary Short, Music Video, Art/Experimental (short film), Animation (short film), Short Script, Short Sketch Comedy Videos, Virtual Reality, Web Series, TV Pilots.

Accepting VR Entries for 2018 NYC Independent Film Festival!

We're accepting VR subsmissions within the following specifications:

Submit your Cinematic or Interactive VR piece to be a part of the first ever, day-long VR experience! 360 Videos/Cinematic VR: submissions must be uploaded to YouTube in a 360 format (preferably with spatial audio) and a link to the video on YouTube should be provided in the submission. Films will be shown in GearVRs, so filmmakers must indicate a preference for Oculus Video or Samsung VR (formerly MilkVR). After acceptance, filmmakers will be required to provide an MP4 or MKV that plays in one of those two applications on a GearVR. 

Interactive VR using a game engine like Unity or Unreal: Samsung Gear VR and HTC Vive will be available, the experience must be designed for one of those two platforms. The required file, such as an APK, should be provided. If available, a video-based trailer should also be included with submissions. We can provide additional information as necessary, such as Oculus-issued Signature (OSIG) information for devices, after a filmmaker submits their work.
