NewFilmmakers NYNEWFILMMAKERS NY SERIES The NewFilmmakers series, which selects films and videos often overlooked by traditional film festivals, began in 1998 and over the past twelve years has screened over 600 features and 2,000 short films. In 2000 we brought the Havana Film Festival to New York and in 2002 we started NewFilmmakers Los Angeles. Many well-known films have had their initial screenings at NewFilmmakers. NewFilmmakers LA now screens monthly at the Sunset GowerStudio in Hollywood. This year we began NewFilmmakers Online, which givesfilmmakers the opportunity to exhibit and distribute their films directly tothe public. NEWFILMMAKERS NY FILM SCHOOL SERIES NewFilmmakers regularly invites leading film schools to present films and to discuss their programs with potential students. Check our website for additional information about the series.
NEWFILMMAKERS NY SPECIAL PROGRAM SERIES Our Special Series give new filmmakers a chance to reach their audiences. Our NewLatino Series is now in its seventh year, and we also present Middle East NewFilmmakers, Women NewFilmmakers, and special programs curated by Third World Newsreel.
