ESPN’s Brian M. Lockhart Joins New York Festivals TV & Film Awards Advisory Board

New York Festivals® TV & Film Awards announced the addition of Brian M. Lockhart, VP and Executive Producer, Original Content ESPN+ to the TV & Film Awards Advisory Board. He joins a world-class panel of prominent industry executives whose experience and expertise provide wise counsel to the TV & Film Awards competition.

“Stories give us a common language and today’s technology gives filmmakers so many opportunities that weren’t possible or even imaginable in the past. As an award-winning content creator, Brian’s expertise in narrative formats is both impressive and extensive,” said Rose Anderson, VP & Executive Director, New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, “With his addition to the Board, we gain the perspective of someone with deep insights into the paths to the future.”

Brian M. Lockhart brings over 20 years industry expertise to the TV & Film Advisory Board. As vice president and executive producer of Original Content for ESPN+, ESPN’s subscription-based streaming service he is responsible for overseeing strategy and development for all ESPN+ original programming initiatives, including new projects as well as existing shows.

Brian had this to say about importance of nonfiction storytelling, “The power of storytelling is what fuels this organization, and it’s a privilege to be a part of the board. I look forward to the continued support of filmmakers and the discovery of new voices."

Prior to his role at ESPN, Brian spent more than a decade at NFL Media as vice president and executive producer of Original Content. Among the highlights of his tenure were digital/broadcast hybrid projects that earned him three of his eight career Emmy Awards: the groundbreaking multiplatform experience JFK: The Untold Story of That Day in Dallas and the digital series The NFL Season: A Biography.
