Sketch script at the 75th edition of Festival de Cannes

INT. CANNES PALAIS de FESTIVAL - CONFERENCE DE PRESSE

The scene opens as Three Thousnad Years of Longing director George Miller sits at the centre of his ensemble of cast, between Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton, respectively flagged either side by Augusta Gore and Douglas Mitchell.

Miller's presence commands silence as questions are fielded amongst the crowd of media journalists, longing for genius to dawn on their commentary.  

JOURNALSIT

Can you pass comment on this year's competition entry and on longing for a Genie?

MILLER:

You earn wishes, enchant, it's equivalent to getting the Gold Medal

ELBA:

or being the Self Genie, with a wish to learn!

SWINTON:

Here there's danger in the story. 

Take a forensic space with people not roles, and infinite wisdom.

GORE:

In reality, this is relinquent. 

It's science, and myth, an allegory.

MITCHELLl:

That's fantasy.

Just morph into it, and hear the echoes.

Applause sounds echo across the room.
