The Waves Film Bazaar expects a growing attendance for its 2025 Goa edition

Waves Film Bazaar (WFB) is thrilled to announce the 19th edition which will take place from November 20–24, 2025 at the Marriott Resort, Goa.

Waves Film Bazaar is one of the largest film markets in Asia, with a specific focus on South Asia cinema, running alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held from November 20-28, 2025. Waves Film Bazaar offers a varied range of activities that provide access to the greatest of Indian and South Asian talents and films. A total of 2000+ participants attended last year, including international professionals from more than 30 countries.
The Co-Production Market, which seeks co-production partners from all around the world, is one of Waves Film Bazaar’s main highlights. Waves Film Bazaar invites calls for entries for Feature & Documentary projects for its 2025 edition.
Since its launch in 2007, The Co-Production Market (CPM) provides a platform for curated projects offering filmmakers opportunities to gain both financial and artistic support through co-production.
Each year, selected projects are given multiple opportunities to connect with Indian and international producers, distributors, sales agents, and financiers, facilitating collaboration and co-productions.
The Co-Production market aims to unite film professionals globally, expanding opportunities for international partnerships.
Past editions have seen acclaimed films like The LunchBox, Dum Lagake Haisha, Newton, Schirkoa: In Lies We Trust, Girls will be Girls, In the Belly of a Tiger highlighting the market’s impact on the global film industry
For its 2025 edition, Waves Film Bazaar will award a total of $20,000 in cash grants to three winning projects from the Co-Production Market selection. The grants will be distributed as follows: ●1st Prize : Co-Production Market Feature - $10,000●2nd Prize : Co-Production Market Feature - $5,000●Special Cash Grant for Co-Production Market Documentary project- $5,000
Initiated in 2024, Waves Film Bazaar cash grant initiative helps bridge the gap between vision and production by offering a decisive development funding. During the last edition, The First Prize, a cash grant of $10,000, was awarded to Kurinji (The Disappearing Flower), directed by Payal Sethi. The Second Prize, a cash grant of $5,000, went to Kothiyan - Fishers of Men, directed by Sanju Surendran and produced by Pramod Sankar. The Third Prize, also a $5,000 cash grant, was awarded to All Ten Heads of Ravana, directed by Pranjal Dua and produced by Bich-Quan Tran.
In addition Waves Film Bazaar’s sales and distribution segments include Market Screenings and the Viewing Room, a video library which displays about 200 new and unseen Indian South Asian films, as well as many more events, such as Work-In-Progress lab, Knowledge Series, Producer’s Workshop, Country Pavilions and Market Stalls.
