The fifth edition of this  workshop has presented 6 work-in-progress films coming from Africa and Arab countries. A Kasha by hajooj kuka has won this year's new Biennale Prize.

This year's edition of the Venice Production Bridge, held from August 31 – September 5 during the 74th Venice International Film Festival, has had outstanding results. We welcomed 2070 Industry accreditations, which has shown a 10% increase compared to last year's edition. With an ever-increasing number of attendees, meetings and panels, the Venice Production Bridge has truly evolved into a specialized meeting point for all producers and industry professionals.

VENICE GAP-FINANCING MARKET
September 1 to September 3, 2017

Over the three days of the Venice Gap-Financing Market, 1132 meetings were organized and held for the 25 feature-length fiction film and documentary projects, 15 Virtual Reality & Interactive, Web and TV Series projects and 7 Biennale College – Virtual Reality projects. This has shown a 86% increase in number of meetings compared to 2016's edition.

BOOK ADAPTATION RIGHTS MARKET
September 3 to September 5, 2017

19 publishers have joined us for this year's edition of the Book Adaptation Rights Market. In just three days, 380 one-to-one meetings were organized and held, showing a 52% increase compared to last year.

On September 3rd, the Spazio Incontri hosted the very successful panel NETFLIX'S INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION STRATEGY, during which Erik Barmack, Vice President of Netflix, explained Netflix's global international strategy.

EUROPEAN FILM FORUM
September 3 to September 4 2017

For this year's edition of the European Film Forum, the European Commission and the Venice Production Bridge co-organized two events, on September 3rd and 4th, 2017.

The first one was entitled Virtual gets real: exploring the industrial and societal effects of Virtual Reality. The President of La Biennale di Venezia, Paolo Baratta, and the Director - General of DG CONNECT, Roberto Viola, gave the opening speeches.

The second event was devoted to the EU's support to the audiovisual industry, and specifically focused on Shaping together the MEDIA Programme of the future. Mariya Gabriel, The European Commissioner for Digital Economyand Society, On. Sandro Gozi and On. Dario Franceschini delivered their keynote speeches.

Attendees were also able to relax, mix and mingle during one of the three parties and cocktails organized in the Beach Pavilion outside of the Hotel Excelsior.
