Fast Food Nation Premier

Last night my colleagues and I got the opportunity to climb the stairs at the premier of Fast Food Nation directed by Richard Linklater featuring Ethan Hawke, Greg Kinneer, and Wilmer Valderrama.

We arrived at about 9:45 and while we eagerly waited in line the cast of Volver exited the Pailais and descended the stairs.

We entered the Palais at about 10:15. Walking the red carpet was awesome. There was about 100 paparazzi lined up and flashing their cameras. The music was blasting and there was a definate high energy ambiance.

Me on the tapis rouge

Once we entered the Lumiere we watched the screen as the stars came in. The cast arrived at about 10:25 just enough time for the press to get their pictures. As the featured guests entered the Lumiere the theatre rose to their feet to applaud the director and the actors. Things settled down and the moved began.

My Review

The film, in my opinion, was worthwhile. It was a narrative about many different charactors and their connection the the fast food chain "Mickey's". The film had a very relaxed pacing and had a laid back visual style. The film's plot had no real dramatic feel, but left the viewers with a completely new outlook on the fastfood industry. It was quite graphic towards the end which wrapped up the film with a high emotion scene. Overall I enjoyed the film and Linklater surely got his point across I give Fast Food Nation 3 stars.
