Leeds International Film FestivalThe 31st Leeds International Film Festival will take place 2–16 November 2017. The Leeds International Film Festival (LIFF) is the largest film festival in England outside London. Founded in 1987, it is held in November at various venues throughout Leeds, West Yorkshire. In 2016, the festival welcomed over 40,000 visitors and showed over 300 films from around the world, shorts and features, commercial and independent. LIFF is a qualifying film festival for the Oscars® and BAFTAs LIFF is a qualifying film festival for the Academy Awards and the winning films in Short Film City’s Louis Le Prince International Short Film Competition and World Animation Award may thus be eligible for the Academy’s Short Film Awards. The festival’s British Short Film Competition is BAFTA qualifying. There are £4000 worth of prizes across seven short film competitions. Submit Here: http://www.leedsfilm.com/submissions/

LIFF is also a qualifying film festival for the Academy Awards and BAFTA. The winning films in the Louis Le Prince International Short Film Competition and World Animation Award are eligible for the Academy’s Short Film Awards. The festival’s British and Yorkshire short film competitions are BAFTA qualifying.
