Animaze is happy to announce a partnership with the visionary folks at FullDome.Pro. SInce meeting at FestForums in Santa Barbara last Decemeber Animaze and FullDome have been exploring ways of teaming up and finally the news is in and positive. Not only is FulllDome a state of the art 360 degree Dome vendor but the content they create and distribute worldwide is divine. From CES to E3 Burning Man and beyond the artisti visions and immersive experience is out of this world. Created by Android Jones who is a mater artist has received ecstastic reviews from Geek and Forbes. Here is what Geek said
One of the most outstanding experiences at E3 was the 360 Dome, featuring a crazy art project from Andrew ‘Android’ Jones. It was something you would expect to see at Burning Man, and not a show dedicated to video games, but the surreal 3D art fit right in. BlackBoxTV had the ingenious idea to bring this visual adventure to the heart of E3. These domes are portable tents that allow you to have your own 360-degree projection experience. It’s like having Pink Floyd at the Planetarium in your own back yard. Except it’s a way more immersive experience. The New York based company 360 Dome.Pro has structures that are cozy enough for one, or can accommodate a large dance party. When paired with surround sound, and the right visuals – you can be transported into another world. While this could be great for spontaneous dance clubs, what artist Android Jones created is this psychedelic, immersive art show. Samskara is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Jones’ work is a beautiful mesh of fractals, pixels, and digital bits that form together to create Eastern-inspired art. Working with his team, he was able to transpose it into the 3D world, and without even having to put on a head set, you’re able to experience his world and his mind from the comforts of a bean bag and staring up into the unending universe provided by the 360 Dome. What starts as a surreal dive into the psyche quickly retreats to the dark depths of the human mind. The music thumps along in time, drawing you in to Jones’ world. It’s unsettling at times, even as the beauty of his work births from itself. I can easily see why this has been a hit at the music festivals where Samskara has traveled. From the moment the video starts, you are taken through the fabric of the universe. It envelops you and creates a sense of safety and security. There is peace, balance, and beauty here. Even when things go south, as you fall to the depths of the darker parts of Jones’ world, it is still alluring. Even in the worst parts of the human existence, you manage to find something to hold on to. But the story doesn’t leave you there, and you once again enter the cosmos and realize that this entire time you have been on a journey, a path of self discovery. You see the universe, at least Jones’ interpretation of it, and a sinking realization that this narrative is without judgement – that you have the good and the bad, that it makes up all of us. And it, in itself, is human life. For not a single word being spoken, Samskara is one hell of a story. As for Jones himself, his background working with Industrial Light and Magic, as well as holding the illustrious position of North America’s only concept artist for Nintendo. He worked on Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. He also helped create the site conceptart.org, which is a huge resource for up and coming, and working artists. Keep an eye out to see if Samskara will be coming to an event near you. It’s a 16 minute experience well worth your time.
