Kids First

Now in its tenth year, the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival is a showcase for new and classic children's films, TV shows and DVDs from studios, independent producers and youth producers worldwide that travels to more than 100 venues annually and has more than 10,000 screenings of individual titles throughout the year. Youth are given a true voice - as curators of the Festival, panelists critiquing films, volunteer staff and as filmmakers and videographers showing their work.

A Traveling Festival

The KIDS FIRST! Film Festival is hosted locally by established film festivals, art and children's museums, nonprofit film centers, libraries, schools, and other local organizations. KIDS FIRST! is seeking inspirational sports films for kids for the IronFlix Film Festival

IronKids 2009

Beginning in May, the World Triathlon Corporation starts its 8 city tour of IronKids and IronFlix. The events include regional championship races, an athletes' "village" and the newly launched IronFlix Film Festival.

KIDS FIRST! is partnering with IronKids National Triathlon to present IronFlix, a kids' film festival designed to inspire and motivate youth to lead an active, positive and healthy lifestyle.

KIDS FIRST! is seeking inspirational sports films for kids, ages 2-18.  The selection is not limited to the triathlon sports of swim-bike-run, but will include any sports that involve kids: rock climbing, skiing, surfing, "extreme anything" plus healthy lifestyle and nutrition! We are looking for both features and shorts. Features will be screened for the whole family on Friday and Saturday nights, while shorts will be shown during the day at the "athletes' village."

The events are hosted by the sponsoring cities and are completely free to the public. Approximately 800 kids are expected to participate at each location in the IronKids races, with family and friends attending. The events will be advertised in local parenting publications and by the host cities.  Host cities:

May 2                 San Diego, CA

June 7                St. Petersburg, FL

July 5                 Raleigh, NC

July 19               Carmel, IN (Indianapolis Area)

Aug 9                  Oklahoma City, OK

Sep 6                  Avon, CO (Denver Area)

Sep 13                Alpharetta, GA (Atlanta Area)

Oct 3 & 4 Tucson, AZ (Regional & National Championship)

Titles submitted will also be considered for the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival. For more information go to http://www.kidsfirst.org/submit-a-title/
