Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival




Organized by the Himal Association - a nonprofit organization - KIMFF is a film festival that has been held in Kathmandu since 2000. KIMFF has gone annual and competitive from 2007 in response to viewer pressure and to attract more international filmmakers.From a wide selection of films about mountain people, issues, environment and sports, KIMFF has sought to represent the sensibilities and diversity of mountain life all over the world. In recent years, KIMFF has also been accepting films on human rights, globalisation, gender etc.

KIMFF enjoys a large following of creative and intellectual individuals who believe that KIMFF highlights the socially transformative capability of the audio-visual medium.

KIMFF has been scheduled on 9-12 Dec 2010 for its eighth edition.Entries will be made open from first week of March 2010. For details please visit

About Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival

Through various genres of films, KIMFF explores the growing diversity and complexity of human experience in the mountains. We will be focusing on one theme this year (although not exclusively): 1) peace and reconstruction.
