Hungarian Film Forum In Zlin

CHAMELEON (Krizstina Godaova)

On Thursday of this week, the Zlin Film Festival for Children and Youth, the largest film event in the Czech Republic, will host the Hungarian Film Forum to correlate with the Hungarian National Day on June 2. The Forum will showcase several current Hungarian films, with several important Hungarian film stars and producers attending. The celebrations will climax with the Hungarian Csardas Party, in honor of Hungarian filmmakers. The Forum is a major step in bringing together film professionals from the Czech Republic and Hungary to discuss areas of mutual concern and interest, as well as igniting interest in co-productions and other forms of cooperation.

Among the new Hungarian films being shown here are: LULL, a crimm drama by Tamas Sas; BIBLIOTHEQUE PASCAL, a psychological thriller written and directed by Szabolcs Hajdu; CHAMELEON, about a suave con artist who ensnares lonely women and then cheats them out of their savings, written and directed by Krisztina Goda; JEDNA (1), a reality-expanding drama set in a repressive future time, dircted by Pater Sparrow; STARPATH, a documentary on the plight of children in the abandoned industrial zones of Hungary, directed by Attila Vandor; and VESPA, a winning road movie written and directed by Diana Groo.
