Grossmann Festival Film Program is Online, Guests of Honour Are Gary Sherman and William Lustig
At this year’s Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival, 37 feature films, 34 short films and 9 documentaries from 30 countries will be screened for your viewing pleasure. The festival will take place on July 16-18 in Ormož and July 20-24 in Ljutomer, Slovenia.
Unfortunately, Lloyd Kaufman’s visit is cancelled, but we will be joined by genre film legend William Lustig, director of timeless cult classics such as Maniac and Maniac Cop. Along with Gary Sherman, he will also receive the Honorary Vicious Cat award.
Six fierce films will compete for the Vicious Cat award: Hungarian supernatural horror Post Mortem (with guest, director Péter Bergendy), British-German folk horror Fanny Lye Deliver'd, directed by Thomas Clay, French horror comedy Teddy, directed by Ludovic & Zoran Boukherma, first Belgian zombie film Yummy (with guest, director Lars Damoiseaux), Belgian-French-Irish thriller Hunted, directed by Vincent Paronnaud, and British psychological horror Kindred, directed by Joe Marcantonio. We will also be visited by young Canadian filmmaker Octavian Kaul who has two films in the Slak's Vicious Cat competition program.
In the Vicious Cat jury we have our guest of honour Gary Sherman, director of last year’s Vicious Cat winner The Lodge Severin Fiala, and Slovenian writer-director Andrej Košak. The short film jury features animator Dušan Kastelic who has won the Melies d’argent award at Grossmann 2018 with The Cell, Slovenian horror maestro Tomaž Gorkič, and Dino Julius, co-writer and co-director of last year’s Melies d’argent winner Slice of Life. The best music documentary will be chosen by our regular juror Igor Vidmar, publisher and producer Goran Lisica – Fox, and Terens Štader, editor of the Let It Roll Music Film Festival.
