Festival 4 mas 1

Created and promoted by the MAPFRE FOUNDATION (Madrid), 4+1 Film Festival is a singular cinematic event: It’s a true Festival of Festivals with the objective of bringing back quality autor cinema: Its programming collects some of the best movies recently presented in the most prestigious film festivals (Berlin, Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, Venice, etc.) that have not yet reached the commercial circuit. At the same time, 4+1 calls and unites five countries and five different audiences, as it occurs simultaneously in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Spain and Mexico In each one of its venues, 4+1 is held in prestigious institutions recognised for showing autor cinema: the Cinemateca Distrital de Bogotá and (Cine Colombia), in Bogotá; the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA)- Fundacion Constantini, in Buenos Aires, the Cine Palafox in Madrid;the Cineteca Nacional in Mexico City and the Cinemateca Brasileira in Sao Paulo. Each year, one of the capitals of 4+1 will be the Official Site of the Festival. In this first edition the official site is held at the MALBA in Buenos Aires. Aside from the contest section, the programming is completed with screenings related to the film personality that the festival will host, as an honoured guest, in the official site of each edition. The Festival gives the Audience Award to the best film, granted by the vote of the screenings’ attending public in all countries.
