Voltage Pictures has closed major sales for Guy Nattiv’s TIFF Award-winning film Skin

Voltage Pictures has closed key deals on Guy Nattiv’s Skin after introducing the title to international buyers at the recent 2018 American Film Market, it was announced today by company President and COO Jonathan Deckter. The film, starring Jamie Bell, Vera Farmiga and Danielle McDonald premiered to strong reviews at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the FIPRESCI Prize.

Voltage closed major deals on the biopic including Lionsgate for the U.K., Ascot Elite for Germany and Switzerland, Sun Film Group for Italy and Poland, The Jokers for France, Twelve Oaks for Spain, King Records for Japan, Contents Panda for Korea, Volga for Baltics and Russia,  Front Row for Middle East, Filmfinity for South Africa, Spentzos for Greece, Samfilm for Iceland, VTI for Ex-Yugo, Captive for Philippines, and Captive for Airlines. A24 / DIRECTV acquired the film for North American distribution out of the Toronto International Film Festival.

Skin received multiple offers in all major territories and that is a testament to the power of Guy’s challenging and necessary take on the triumph of tolerance and understanding over hate,” said Deckter. “We’re thrilled the world is responding to Guy’s film and more importantly, the message of hope and change that it delivers.”

“I am so grateful to the Voltage Pictures team for their belief in Skin.  We live in a time when hate crimes are at an all-time high (as reported this week by the FBI),” said Nattiv. “Especially now when we are still mourning the loss of the 11 Jewish victims who were murdered in a synagogue Skin is more timely and relevant than ever. I'm proud it will be seen around the world.”

Inspired by true events, Skin follows the story of Bryon Widner, played by Bell, a young man who risks it all to turn his back on the notorious group of white supremacist skinheads who raised him and transformed his life.

Maven Pictures’ Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler produced the film alongside Jaime Ray Newman, Oren Moverman, Dillon D. Jordan and Nattiv who directed and wrote the screenplay. Production companies include Maven Pictures, Sight Unseen Pictures, New Native Pictures, TUGAWOOD Pictures, PaperChase Films, Lost Lane Entertainment, Brookstreet Pictures, Come What May Productions, Allusionist Picture House and Hua Wen Movie Group.

Guy Nattiv is repped by ICM Partners and Matt Luber of Luber Rocklin.

Voltage Pictures, established in 2005, is a privately held, film and television production, financing and sales entity. Voltage has won six Academy Awards including Best Picture for The Hurt Locker, and three Academy Awards for Dallas Buyers Club.  Voltage recently completed the drama The Professor and the Madman starring Mel Gibson, Sean Penn, Natalie Dormer, and Steve Coogan and in post-production is the thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile starring Zac Efron, Lily Collins, John Malkovich, Kaya Scodelario, and Jim Parsons.

The company is currently in production on Eve directed by Tate Taylor and starring Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, John Malkovich, Common, Geena Davis and Joan Chen.  It recently completed production on Then Came You starring Maisie Williams, Asa Butterfield, and Nina Dobrev as well as Welcome Home starring Aaron Paul and Emily Ratajkowski which are set to be released in Fall 2018.
