Photo : Leila Naghdipari, Jafar Panahi, Majid Berzegar “Jafar Panahi” the acclaimed Iranian director, published a video in support of the release of “Leila Naghdipari”, the costume and set designer of the movie “Three Faces”.
According to the report of Mansour Jahani, an independent and international cinema journalist, “Jafar Panahi” announced in a statement that “Leila Naghdipari” was arrested on the anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death. All the efforts of her husband Majid Barzegar, filmmaker and producer, as well as other personalities from Iranian cinema, have been to no avail.
The statement of “Jafar Panahi” in support of the release of “Leila Naghdipari”, the designer of the set and costumes of the movie “Three Faces” made by this acclaimed Iranian director, is reflected in the prestigious media of the world and prominent events of the world cinema, prominent European film institutions and academies announced.
The International Coalition for Filmmakers at Risk and its founding institutions, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and European Film Academy, together with the Berlin International Film Festival, the Belarusian Independent Film Academy, Catalan Film Academy, German Film Academy, Icelandic Film Academy, Luxembourg Film Academy, Portuguese Film Academy and Ukrainian Film Academy, protest vehemently against the arrest of Iranian set and costume designer “Leila Naghdipari” and demand her immediate and unconditional release.
