Tiburon Film Festival to showcase over 240 films

The 2007 Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF) is set for March 22 - 30, 2007. TIFF will be showcasing over 240 films from 90 countries.

The Opening Night Film & Gala is scheduled for March 22, 2007. The Opening Night Film of the 2007 Tiburon International Film Festival is Even Money, directed by Academy Award nominated director, Mark Rydell (starring Kim Basinger, Danny DeVito, Forrest Whitaker, Kelsey Grammer, Ray Liotta, Nick Canon and Tim Roth). Even Money will be making its West Coast Premiere that evening. Mark Rydell will be present for the screening and available after the film to answer questions. The film will be presented at the Playhouse Theater commencing at 7pm.

The Opening Night Gala (March 22, 2007) is a formal event, which will be held at the Corinthian Yacht Club, beginning at 8:30pm. The evening will include filmmakers, international cuisine and live entertainment. Three hundred guests are expected to attend. TIFF will continue its tradition of enriching the town of Tiburon with a number of colorful events.

Sam's Anchor Cafe will host a Meet the Filmmakers Cocktail Party (March 23, 2007 @ 6pm),

Closing Night/Award Ceremonies will be held at the Corinthian Yacht Club (March 30, 2007 @ 7pm).


2007 Tributes:

Director John Ford, Academy Award nominated Director, Mark Rydell, Italian Actor, Marcello Mastroianni, and French Film Pioneers.

Film Genres: Feature, Documentary, Short, Animation, Experimental...

Special Programs:

- Pixar Animation Studios will be conducting a special presentation about the animated world.

- "Scriptwriting and Independent Filmmakers" is a panel discussion featuring Academy Award winning filmmaker Irving Saraf, Academy Award winning filmmaker, Allie Light, and accomplished screenplay writer Matt Hader (Matt is on the American Screenwriter Association Board of Directors).

- Marin Filmmakers (a collection of films from Marin County's finest filmmakers), Sports, Music, Video, Children, Seniors.
