The Victoria Film Festival Welcomes Kris Kristofferson as this Year’s IN Award Winner.
Richard Crouse, of Canada AM will host the inaugural IN Award ceremony celebrating lifetime achievements. We wanted to come up with an award that would honour those with an eye on their craft and towards the future, said Festival Director Kathy Kay. Kris Kristofferson has never been afraid to tackle the really challenging roles and projects, which has always kept him fresh and on the cutting edge. Were happy to be able to acknowledge his talents. Kristofferson is an Academy Award nominated, Golden Globe and Grammy award-winning American actor and musician. As songwriter and singer he is known for creating hits like Me and Bobby Mcgee, Sunday Mornin Comin Down and Help Me Make it Through the Night. His acting career began in the 70s with many notable films and he continued to work on projects with Sam Peckinpah, John Sayles, Alan Rudolph, Richard Linklater and Martin Scorcese culminating in over 90 film and television appearances. It is for his independent spirit and integral place in film history that the Victoria Film Festival acknowledges this remarkable man by awarding him the 2010 IN Award.
