"The Season" to screen at The New York International Film Festival (NYIFF)

The New York International Film Festival (NYIFF) today announced that it will screen "The Season" as part of its spring Gotham lineup on Sunday May 1st at 10pm at the Quad Cinema (34 West 13th Street). To date, The Season has won impressive festival accolades including, Best Cinematography at the Dark Carnival Film Festival, Best Score at the British Film Festival of LA, an Award of Merit from the Accolade Film Festival, an Audience Choice: Gold Medal of Excellence at the Park City Film Festival as well as winning Best Narrative Feature Film at the Moving Pictures Magazine Film Festival.

Written, produced, directed and edited by Adam Edwards Brooks and starring AJ Bowen (The Signal, The House of the Devil, A Horrible Way To Die) and Douglas Tait (Thor, Land Of The Lost, Freddy vs Jason), viewers get introduced to strangers in rural Iowa who find their vehicles sabotaged. Before dawn, they become subjected to the unholy practices of an excommunicated Amish family, as well as several genetically defective 'kin' amongst them.

"We are thrilled that The Season is part of the feature film category," said NYIFF's Stuart Alson. "Adam Edwards Brooks' versatility, flair for dramatic story-telling and cinematography makes him something of an indie filmmaking machine and certainly one to watch out for."

Brooks commented, "We're excited to be a part of the festival and look forward to our New York Premiere."
