Film music made in Germany - At the 60th Film Festival in Cannes, Monday May 21 2007, is given over to German film music. The guest of honour of GERMAN FILM MUSIC is the film music composer Klaus Doldinger, who wrote the score for the films THE BOAT, THE NEVER ENDING STORY and others.

The German Film Music Day is organised by Soundtrack_Cologne and mediamusic:nrw, and presented by the Composers' Club - Deutscher Komponistenverband and the German Composers Association in cooperation with FFACE, the European association of film music composers. Aust (managing director SoundTrack_Cologne).

The wide-ranging programme presents German film music in its various

Composers Klaus Doldinger, Wilbert Hirsch, Jochen Schmidt-Hambrock, H.P. Ströer and Matthias Hornschuh will discuss the current situation of film music in Germany. MADE IN NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA is presented by Daniel Kothenschulte of the Frankfurter Rundschau, and describes the thriving media-music environment in and around Cologne.
