The European Independent Film Festival 2008 is ready for you

The European Independent Film Festival 2008 (ÉCU 2008) will take place from March 14 to 16 at the Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris, site François Mitterrand.
The European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU) is at the forefront of the discovery and promotion of the very best independent filmmaking talent from around the world. The third edition of this ground breaking event will announce its official selection on 15 February 2008. Approximately 100 films will be screened at the festival as filmmakers compete for prizes in 11 categories.
ÉCU 2008 received over 1 000 submissions from 50 countries and an audience of up to 10,000 people is expected to attend the three day event. ÉCU attracts large crowds of film industry professionals, directors, producers and talent scouts from around the world, as well as a large public audience. Entry to the festival is free.
Many of the award-winning films from previous editions of ÉCU have secured distribution deals and ÉCU has served as an essential launching pad to several independent filmmakers.
Promotional video clips from the official selection will be available to view on the ÉCU website, www.ecufilmfestival.com, from 25 February, 2008
Discover some of the best new filmmaking talent in the world today at a festival which is becoming known as “the Sundance of Europe”…
“I know how hard it is for independent filmmakers to get the recognition they deserve. Our mission is to be the showcase for the most exciting young talent in the film business today. ÉCU brings the fresh, distinctive vision of these hugely talented new filmmakers to audiences craving innovation and real creative flair. The platform we provide can be an essential link between a director and a distribution deal”.
Scott Hillier, ÉCU 2008’s President and Academy Award™ honoured independent filmmaker
Other festival highlights include: workshops in scriptwriting, editing, distribution, acting, film financing in the internet age and digital distribution..
