The 22nd Far East Film Festival becomes an online cinematographic event expecting to see you in june!

26 June / 4 July 2020 - Udine, Italy, Everywhere

From the 26th of June to the 4th of July,
the whole Fareaster community will be
able to actively share viewings and content.

UDINE – Face to face, Heart to Heart: it’s the title of a huge hit record from the ‘80s, and no one who remembers it will be able to see those words without singing the melody. But now it’s also the slogan for the Far East Film Festival 22. In fact, it’s more than a slogan – it’s the perfect description of the upcoming edition. An edition that refuses to surrender and which will be taking place online! Face to face through the thin glass of screens, and heart to heart because the Udine festival’s community is literally one big family…

Though the dates are still the same ones announced after the postponement in February - the 26th of June to the 4th of July – the structure of FEFF 22 will obviously be changing. But we’re not just talking about moving all the films in competition to on-demand viewing – we’re talking about a transformation, with all the festival’s contents adapted as much as possible to the needs and possibilities of streaming.

The platform we’ll be using will be MYmovies, which the public has already got to grips with as a virtual screening room during these last few months of lockdown, but the online FEFF won’t simply be a list of titles: it’ll be a meeting place for all Fareasters, who will be called upon to vote for the winners of the Audience Awards and to participate in the video greetings of the actors and directors and the in-depth talks with the big names of Asian cinema. From the 30th of June to the 2nd of July, the festival’s Industry section - Focus Asia - will also be online, with the FEFF in progress section (the first and only European platform dedicated to Asian films in post-production), the project market and an abundant lineup of webinars.

The organizers of FEFF 22 will be revealing the details of the new schedule (number of films, times, appointments, etc. etc.) and the accreditation procedures (the campaign will be opening on Monday the 1st of June) as soon as possible. Another journey, another challenge, another adventure.
