The 15th Annual Bushwick Film Festival is back!

After two years of virtual and hybrid renditions, the beloved festival is back and fully in person this year. Beginning November 1st through November 7th, the festival will be offering 5 days of live screenings, panels, special events and metaverse experiences! Featuring over 100 independent films from Brooklyn and around the world, the festival has grown into one of the most anticipated cinematic events in the city.

Founded by Kweighbaye Kotee in 2007, The Bushwick Film Festival in Brooklyn was created to give a platform to emerging and diverse voices in film. Under her creative vision and leadership, BFF has received numerous awards and accolades, has partnered with major brands and organizations, continues to be an entry point for so many filmmakers at the beginning of their career and is recognized for its contribution to the borough’s artistic, cultural, and economic growth.

This year, the festival is excited to form a new partnership with Williamsburg Cinemas where all festival films will screen. In addition to screenings, the festival will also host special events including its Opening Night Red Carpet Reception presented by Spectrum on November 1st at Lot 45. Other live festival events include, an industry panel and networking event at Circa Brewing Co. in downtown Brooklyn, a screenplay reading selected from its best screenplay submissions, and a closing night awards ceremony. The BFF Metaverse experience, presented by Lowkey Giant also returns for the duration of the festival week. Audiences will be able to beam into the BFF Metaverse where they will find an exotic virtual world filled with whimsical avatars, NFT art shows and videos, events and digital media content. You can check out the full programming information on the website.
