A staggering 60+ million people were killed in WWII. In the wake of that war one song-and-dance man pulled off an outrageous act of theater; galvanizing war-weary Europe and rallying 20,000 people with him, he called upon the United Nations to recognize the rights of humanity. The very next day, December 10, 1948, the United Nations passed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – unanimously!  This was the beginning of the evolution of World Law designed to prevent the kind of outrages we see in the world now.
