Peter Fonda is Chairman of the 2012 jury in Stockholm Festival

This year we welcome legendary actor Peter Fonda to the Stockholm International Film Festival. Peter Fonda will head this year’s jury of five and decide which will receive the prestigious Bronze Horse for Best Film.

This year’s jury members will hand out the festival’s heaviest prize, the 7. 3 kilo heavy Bronze Horse to the Best Film i the Stockholm XXIII Competition category. The jury also give out the Aluminium Horse in seven categories: Best Directorial Debut, Best Script, Best Shortfilm, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Music and Best Cinematography.

This year’s jury consists of:

Peter Fonda – the Chairman of the jury. Two-time Academy Award nominated legendary actor Peter Fonda is nothing less than a cinematic and cultural icon. Since his seminal role as “Captain America” in Easy Rider, Fonda has continually delivered impressive performances. He began his feature film career in 1963, playing the romantic lead in Tammy and the Doctor and joined the ensemble cast of the World War II saga The Victors. Shortly thereafter, Fonda began what would become a famous association with Roger Corman, starring in Wild Angels, as the ultra-cool, iron-fisted leader of a violent biker gang, opposite Nancy Sinatra, Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd. Fonda also starred in Corman’s 1967 psychedelic film The Trip, also starring Dern and Susan Strasberg.

Stockholm Film Festival will screen Easy Rider Saturday November 10th at 1.00 pm at Skandia and Peter Fonda will do an exclusive Face2Face before the screening.

Srdjan Dragojevic - Twotime winner of the Stockholm International Film Festival Bronze Horse for Best Film, Srdjan Dragojevic emerged in the 1990’s as one of the most important figures in Serbian cinema. He debuted with We are not Angels (1992) and followed up with Pretty Village Pretty Flame (1996) that showcased Dragojevic’s often recurring dark humour. The Wounds (1998) probed the war time Belgrade with its organized crime and failing society. Director Dragojevic’s film The Parade will be screened in this year's Festival.

Karolina Ramqvist - award winning writer, essayist and novelist. She was editor-in-chief of cultural journal Arena and a critic and columnist at Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter. Her latest novel ”The Beginning of Everything” was published in 2012 and won great critical acclaim. She is currently developing the screenplay for the adaptation of her novel ”The Girlfriend”, which will be shot in 2013.

Malin Crepin - award winning actress, who has worked on the stage and in films in Sweden, Paris and Brussels. In 2009, she won the Rising Star Award at the Stockholm International Film Festival for her film In your Veins, and was nominated Best Actress at the Swedish Guldbaggen. She is currently playing Annika Bengtzon in six movies based on the bestselling novels by Liza Marklund.

Antonio Campos - American director and producer who belongs to a new generation of filmmakers. His directorial debut Afterschool was recieved well and screened at Cannes. Picked as one of the top ten Directors to Watch by Variety Magazine in 2009, he was co-producer of last year’s talked about Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011) and his second feature length film Simon Killer will be in this year’s Stockholm Film Festival’s American Independents section.

Anna Croneman - Producer who since the mid-1990’s has worked on a number of Swedish feature length productions, tv-series and shorts. Notable works are Sundance Grand Jury Prize awarded The King of Ping Pong (2008, executive producer), Michael Winterbottom’s The Killer Inside Me (2010, co-producer) and The Monitor (2011, co-producer), starring Noomi Rapace.
