NYIFF to honor the creators of japanese music video "Nut 1-3 Mutant"
The New York International Film Festival (NYIFF) today announced that the creators of award-winning Japanese music video "Nut 1-3 Mutant Session feat Speech Defect" will be honored at a special reception during the Cannes Film Festival. NYIFF founder/executive producer Stuart Alson will host an invitation-only party on Sunday May 15th at the Penthouse Terrace on the Croisette overlooking the Mediterranean. Artists from Denbak-Fano Deisgn company based in Tokyo will be presented with the award for Best Music Video in front of members of the press, buyers, distributors, A-list personalities. Attendees will get a sneak peek of the music video with a special introduction from the creators.
Commissioned by Blockheads Records, Nut 1-3 Mutant Session comprises mixed media artwork using video, stop-motion animation, drawings and collages. The video depicts an abandoned human mutant museum with an hypnotic electro hip-hop song. During a dark stormy night, at the human mutant museum, all the mutants stored in the dirty jars of formalin come back to life. The museum exposes human mutants, body parts and freaks. In the meantime, the old surveillance cameras catch the live actions of the artists on the old dirty screens. The museum is an old scary dirty place, full of dust and dirt, with many cockroaches and spider webs.
"It is such an honor for me to receive the Best Music Video Award at NYIFF in Cannes," said music video director Jeremy Sanson. "I was glad to get the opportunity to direct this project because I was able to experiment with less traditional imagery. I had the freedom to play around with the artist's heads and bodies to create freaks and monsters, adding dirty textures and collages, and work on a dark and noisy images to create an unusual scary-but-friendly feeling to the music video," stated Sanson.
"NYIFF welcomes all types of alternative film and videos from around the world, " said NYIFF Founder/Executive Produce Stuart Alson. "We loved the concept behind Mutant Session and thought it was refreshing, stylish, unique and superbly edited. It must have been a fun shot for all who collaborated on it, said Alson"
