Nashwa Al Ruwaini elected as member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences

Media Personality and CEO of UAE-based production company Pyramedia, Nashwa Al Ruwaini, was unanimously elected last week as a member of the prestigious International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. With over 20 years of experience in the television industry in the Middle East, Nashwa has built a massively successful reputation for content creation in the Middle East.
After 11 years of presenting and creating content for the Middle East Broadcasting corporation (MBC), Nashwa established her own production company, Pyramedia.  Her company has grown to produce some of the highest rated television shows in the Middle East and has also recently proceeded to branch out into the realm of film, producing and financing feature films and documentaries under two new divisions PyraMovies and PyraDocs, thus leading to the company becoming one of the most successful private media companies in the Middle East.

"I am very honoured to be a member of one of the most respected organizations for television in the world. Being a part of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences opens up a new era for dialogue between East and West and a chance to interact with executives in the Film and television industry the world over," said Nashwa.

Nashwa is Co-Founder and former Executive Director of the Middle East International Film Festival, launched in Abu Dhabi in 2007 and also currently acts as a Media Consultant to various governments, international institutions and high profile individuals. Previously, she served as the head of MBC Group for Egypt and North Africa, CEO of Middle East Productions, and Former Editor-in-Chief of lifestyle magazine ‘Nada'.

Nashwa participated as a juror for the International Digital Emmy Awards earlier this year and has received an array of accolades during her career including a Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award in 2009 and a nomination for ‘Best Entertainer' at the 2008 Rose D'Or Awards in Switzerland she was also ranked among the top 50 most powerful businesswomen in the Middle East by FORBES magazine in 2005 and 2008.
