Created in 1979 in Nantes by Philippe and Alain Jalladeau, two brothers with a passion for cinema and travels, the 3 Continents Festival has assered itself, with the passing years, as a gathering which cannot be ignored by the cinematographies of Africa, Asia, and Latin and Black America. Since its creation, it has presented over one thousand films and has gained both national and international prestige.

Exclusive screenings of works of fiction, tribute to an actor or an actress, historical presentation of a country, of a cultural entity, of a studio, or retrospective of the work of a director, the festival multiplies the ways of looking at the cinematogaphies of faraway countries. Unique of its kind with its windows opened on the world, it thus offers every year a wide selection of films ready to fulfill all the aspirations and satisfy all the curiosity of an ever more numerous public as the years go by. The Jalladeau brothers's initial objectives have remained the same : to discover, meet, recognize.
