Mimesis: Shriekfest Film Festival official selection picked up by Anchor Bay Entertainment

Shriekfest Film Festival Director Denise Gossett updated us on official selection Mimesis. It has been picked up by Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Dead Wait Productions announced today worldwide distribution for the award winning movie Mimesis: Night of the Living Dead.

Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired all rights US and Canada and Meyers Media Group the rest of the world

Mimesis: Night of the Living Dead is about a group of horror movie fans who become unwilling participants in a nightmarish role playing game that emulates a classic horror film and turns real. Why watch a horror film when you can live one? It stars Sid Haig (Rob Zombie's The Devil's

Rejects) and Courtney Gains (Children of the Corn).

Mimesis: Night of The Living Dead has played successfully in numerous genre festivals conventions worldwide including Shriekfest Los Angeles and the New York Horror Film Festival. It has won awards in the U.S., Spain and France.

Mimesis: Night of the Living Dead is a homage to the original classic.

Noted Horror Journalist Mark White from Para Cinema magazine calls it “a brilliant homage to an American horror classic”.

Rue Morgue described it as "exciting film that cleverly plays with expectations.”

The film was directed by Doug Schulze and produced Schulze and Kurt Mayry. Seth Willenson is the Executive Producer and represented the film.

Doug Schulze said- We are from Michigan and Anchor Bay is not only a Michigan Company but is the horror brand for film makers.

Seth Willenson added; “I have been involved in midnight shows since Reefer Madness and Rocky Horror and seen the momentum when a film becomes a community experience.

It breaks all the rules”. Anchor Bay and the producers are planning a series of special exhibitions.

The deal was negotiated by Seth Willenson with Kevin Kasha at Anchor Bay www.shriekfest.com
