Reno Is Only Nevada City to Host Worldwide View-and-Vote for The Best of the Manhattan Short Film Festival Entries

Northern Nevadans have again joined audiences worldwide to cast ballots for their favorite finalist in the 11th annual Manhattan Short Film Festival competition. http://www.msfilmfest.com/

The Reno Film Festival hosts its annual screenings of the Manhattan Short Film Festival’s search for the ‘Best Short’ selected by the movie-going public. During the same week in September, over 200 screenings will be held in more than 100 venues across Europe, North America, Central and South America— including two in Reno, the only participating location in Nevada. Two years ago, Reno’s first place choice also won the worldwide vote.
This view-and-vote events took place two evenings, both at 7:30 p.m. at the Joe Crowley Student Union on the UNR campus. The dates were Wednesday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 27.

Now beginning its ninth season, the Reno Film Festival’s mission is to recognize the cultural benefit of film to personal and community well-being and promote educational and entertaining activities in the Reno area that honor film and filmmakers. Festival organizers plan to screen the winning and nominated Oscar Shorts in March and hold their festival in late April.
