Japan Content Showcase 2019 achieved a record number of exhibitors as 405 !!

The number of registered buyer remains unchanged from the previous year !
“TIFFCOM” is the only film festival in Japan approved by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations. As we are approaching our 16th anniversary, “Japan Content Showcase 2019 (JCS)” will be held from October 22nd (Tue) to 24th (Thu), JCS of content market to represent Asia to featuring music, TV, film and animation is combining the three markets for film and TV (16th TIFFCOM-the Marketplace for film and TV in Asia –) the only film festival in Japan approved by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations), animation (Tokyo International Anime Festival <TIAF>) and music (Tokyo International Music Market <TIMM>, Oct.28th-30th at Shibuya venue ).
We have once again hit our record the highest number of exhibitors ever, There will be 405 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions around the world and have continued to stand out as one of the major multi-content markets representing Asia. The exhibitors of Asian region increased about 30% compared to last year (LY*150, TY**194), especially China has raised 6.4 times (LY14, TY89). So, the top 3 overseas exhibitors for this year are China, Taiwan(35), Korea(34), it is different from last year (2018 : 1st Taiwan<46>, 2nd Korea<35>, 3rd Cambodia<16>). As for the exhibition category, Mobile/Internet category has increased 3 times (vs LY), Home entertainment category has increased 1.7 times since the various sorts of media device are penetrated in everyday life.
Following the huge success of last two years7 events, greater emphasis has been placed this year on intellectual property (IP) and book adaptation rights (Book Adaptation) to promote the commercial acquisition of content. Exhibitors who are eligible to hold businesses meetings concerning IP during the market will have the “IP” mark displayed on the company name plates at their booths. The number of the company who will use this service (display the marks) has raised 1.3times (LY58, TY71) for “IP” and 2.6times (LY8, TY21) for “Book Adaptation”. Regarding the number of registered buyers, it is around 950 and the same level as last year which achieved the best results of the number of the business meetings and the total value. In particular, overseas buyers account for 75% of the total number of buyers from last year and we are also pleased to announce to have the first-time registered countries and regions as Qatar, Lithuania, Ireland and Bulgaria. The top 3 ranking countries for the number of buyers are not changed as 1st China, 2nd Taiwan and 3rd Taiwan since last year.
TIFFCOM has assigned its opening day on Tuesday, October 22, as “China Day” on the first attempt and this year sees the pavilion from Italy for the first time. We are waiting for your attendance with various seminar and event programs.
