Jamie Lee Curtis will present Screen Actors Guild’s 42nd Life Achievement Award to Shirley Temple Black at the 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®, Executive Producer Jeff Margolis announced today. It will mark Curtis’ first appearance as a presenter at the SAG Awards™.

Screen Actors Guild is honoring Black for her career achievement and humanitarian accomplishments. Recent recipients of SAG’s Life Achievement Award include James Garner, Karl Malden, Clint Eastwood, Edward Asner, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Sidney Poitier, Kirk Douglas, Elizabeth Taylor, Angela Lansbury, Robert Redford and George Burns.
Curtis was nominated for an Actor® for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for True Lies in 1995. Curtis’ memorable performances also include starring roles in A Fish Called Wanda, Trading Places, Freaky Friday and the television series Anything But Love. For the past ten years she has been the critically acclaimed author of best-selling children’s books. Her seventh children’s book, “Is There Really A Human Race?” will be published in September.

TNT and TBS will simulcast the 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® live from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2005, at 8 pm ET/PT, 7 pm CT and 6 pm MT. The only industry honors voted on entirely by actors, the 12th Annual SAG Awards™ will recognize the outstanding performances of 2005 in five film and eight television categories.

The 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® is executive-produced by Jeff Margolis and produced by Kathy Connell. Yale Summers, Karla Tamburrelli, Daryl Anderson, Shelley Fabares and Paul Napier are producers for SAG. Gloria Fujita O’Brien and Mick McCullough are supervising producers. Alan Carter is the director, and Stephen Pouliot is the writer. Benn Fleishman is executive in charge of production.
